A dedicated wife and mother, Barb married Robert (Bob) Lehman in 1963 and moved to Joplin in the early 1970's. The devoted mother of three children, Barbara is survived by her son, Mark Johnson and his wife, Carol of McKinney, TX and her daughter, Marcia Forcum of Webb City.She was also the loving grandmother to four grandchildren, Nick Johnson, Dana Johnson and John Johnson of McKinney, TX and Samuel Forcum of Webb City. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Johnson.
Serving Christ gave Barb immense joy. She especially loved working with children. Leaving her imprint for Christ on others, Barbara was a joy-filled Christian. Her church family was a vital part of her everyday life. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Webb City, MO.
Barbara was a stay at home mom until her children became teens. She then went to work in the retail clothing industry in the area of sales and management at places such as Vandever Ramsays, Hackers, Inc., Kassabs, and LaPegs in Joplin. Known for her impeccable taste and classic style, Barbara had a large clientele who relied on her expertise in wardrobe selection. She retired in 2003 following a mini stroke.
Funeral services for Barbara will be held at First Baptist Church, Webb City on Saturday, November 15th at 1:00p.m. Interment will follow at Carl Junction Cemetery. Family serving as pallbearers will be Nick Johnson, Dana Johnson, John Johnson, Sam Forcum, Rick Lehman and Jennie Phillips. Other pallbearers include Russell Kennedy and Greg Setsor. Visitation will be held at Parker Mortuary on Friday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Contributions may be made in Barbara's honor to St. John's Hospice Nurses, The American Cancer Society or First Baptist Church of Webb City Building Fund.
