He grew up in Hitchcock and graduated from Hitchcock High School. He married Dorothy Metheny on Sept. 2, 1944. They moved to Loyal. He was a dairy farmer until 1999, but continued farming. He was a member of Okeene Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Surviving are his wife , of the home; three sons, one daughter, one brother, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one great-great-grandchild.
