BRADLEY CHILDRESS

Bradley Claude Childress passed away unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 29, 1962, in Van Nuys, California. He was a humble and generous man who was always willing to lend a hand to support his friends and family. A longtime resident, he attended local schools and Eldorado High School. He worked for many years as a laborer for Las Vegas Paving and was a member of the Local Labors Union 872 and Operators Union Local #12. He was a free spirit with the heart of an adventurer who lived life to fullest and on his terms. He was considered a modern day mountain man and wilderness expert. He spent his free time outdoors hunting, fishing, tracking and acting as a guide, riding dirt bikes and horses. He was an avid skier and greatly enjoyed getting out on the mountain with his family and sharing his adventures with them. He also enjoyed traveling and in addition to trips in various locations throughout the world he went on Safari in Africa with his brothers with whom he was incredibly close. Above all else, Bradley was devoted to his friends and family. He surrounded himself with his children, family and a devout group of childhood friends from all walks of life. He cherished the time he had with his parents and would frequently visit to make sure they were doing well. He spent the last week of his life doing what he loved - up on the mountain skiing with his granddaughter. He is survived by his children, Emily Santome and Jess Childress; son-in-law, Adam Santome; his parents, Jim and Georgia Childress; brothers, Brent and Bruce Childress; the love of his life, Denise McBride; daughter, Chelsea; his beloved granddaughter, Jordynn Santome; and many other loving relatives. Memorial services will be at 3 pm. Sunday, Jan. 19, at Palm Mortuary-Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89131. "Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high, keep your eyes fixed where the trail meets the sky and live like you ain't afraid to die. Don't be scared, just enjoy the ride." - Chris LeDoux
