Dean Orville Goff, 88, formerly of Ruthven,Iowa died on December 20, 2013 as a result of an accident in Napa, CA.

Dean was born in Ruthven on April 23, 1925. He graduated high school in 1942 and was drafted into the Army Air Corps in September of 1947 he was stationed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, where he met and married his first wife, Edith Clements in August of 1947.

The next two decades were marked by multiple deployments overseas and to a variety of stateside postings. Along the way he and Edith brought five children into the world. Dean retired from the Air Force in 1966 after 20 years of service.

In 1970, Dean and Edith separated and were divorced. In 1972 he married Sharon Melton, with whom he fathered two sons. Taking advantage of his Air Force training in electronics, Dean owned and operated two electronic sales and repair businesses, Custom Electronics in Vallejo and then Baldock TV in Napa. In 1987 he closed his business and went to work for the California State Department Office of Consumer Affairs as an investigator for the Bureau of Electronics and Appliance Repair. He retired from state employment in 1995 at the age of 70.

Dean was predeceased by his parents Mable and Paul D Goff, his brothers Paul and Berl Vincent, his sister Ruth Jorgensen and is son-in-law Philip Petrick. He is survived by seven children , David Goff of Sebastopol, CA, Dannielle Petrick of Dubuque IA, Deborah Goff of Shreveport, LA, Mathew (Tracy) Goff, Andrew (Elizabeth)Goff, Christopher(Sarah) Goff all of Napa, CA and Jonathan (Michelle) Goff of Sacrmento CA. He is also survived by his wife of 41 years Sharon Goff of Napa and a stepdaughter Lori Hill of Morro Bay, CA. In addition he is survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
