Mary, 95, (Minion) of Chelsea, MI. passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the Silver Maples Retirement Community in Chelsea. She was the daughter of Clarence and Iva (Silcox) Russell.

She had lived in the area since 1998, coming from Pittsfield Township, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ypsilanti since 1945 where she also sang in the choir.

She was Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Minion Construction Company. Mary had a pilot's license since the 1950s and loved to fly. She also enjoyed boating, golf, bicycling, and going to the beach in Ft. Myers, Florida.

Surviving is her son, William (Marsha) Minion of Tallahassee, Florida; step-children: Nancy (Warren) Mead of Ft. Myers Beach, FL, Shirley Charbonneau of Chelsea, and Dennis (Deb) Caldwell of New Hampshire; six grandchildren, Andrea, Greg, Lindsey, Lisa, Melissa and Michael, and eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Kaufman of Washington, and one brother, Frank (Sue) Russell of Fallbrook, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, George Minion and Carroll Caldwell; two sisters, Martha Manning and Sarah Ekin; and one brother, William Russell.

A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea, with Rev. Kathy Schell officiating.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Ypsilanti or Silver Maples in Chelsea.
