Florence - Shelton S. Hughes, 66, died Saturday at a local hospital. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Waters Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Hughes was born Oct. 13, 1903 at Cope, a son of the late Birdette W. and Sue Bonnette Hughes. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad trainmen and a member of the Florence Elks Club. He was a conductor with the Seaboard Coastline Railroad for 47 years. Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. S. S. Hughes of Florence; two daughters, Mrs. Jack L. Galloway of Sumter; Miss Rhonda Hughes of Winthrop College; a son, Shelton C. Hughes of Florence; three sisters, Mrs. P. S. Agnew of Greenville, Mrs. T. A. Langford of Charlotte, N.C., Mrs. J. T.
