Ann Beyer, 88, of Schulenburg, died peacefully of natural causes at Regency Nursing Center on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
The funeral was held at St. Rose Catholic Church on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 10 a.m., followed by interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Tim Kosler officiated and her great-granddaughter gave the eulogy. Pallbearers were Kristopher Faith, Edward Faith, Stephen Faith and Joshua Faith, all grandsons from Schulenburg. Honorary pallbearers were Albert Muras and Fred Muras, both brothers from High HIll.
Rosary was recited on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. at Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home, led by Rev. Kosler and Barbara Veselka of the Catholic Daughters.
Born at Hostyn on Aug. 11, 1925, she was the daughter of Frank and Emilie (Klecka) Muras. She attended Radhost School in Hostyn for eight years. On Nov. 11, 1947, she married Hugo Beyer at Hostyn. She was born, raised and spent her entire life in Fayette County. Mrs. Beyer was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters.
While she was living at home, Ann became interested in sewing. She would sew clothes for her younger sisters and brothers. After her marriage, she sewed for many people in the area. Ann was well-known for making bride, bridesmaid and prom dresses. She worked at Kasper's Department Store for over 40 years doing alterations, then at Molly's Melange for several years. She did alterations until the time she went into the nursing home. "Ann always had a smile and friendly ‘hello' for everyone," her family writes. "Her love and devotion for her family will be cherished."
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia (Beyer) Faith of Schulenburg; two sisters, Beatrice Sumbera of La Grange, and Lillian Klesel and husband Lawrence of Weimar; two brothers, Fred Muras and wife Janet, and Albert Muras and wife Mary, all of High Hill; four grandsons, Kristopher Faith, Edward Faith, Stephen Faith and Joshua Faith; and seven great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Teagan, Jackson, Colton, Olivia, Ava and Noah Faith.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; two brothers, Frank Muras of Hostyn and Gregory Muras of Houston; a son, Edward Beyer; and a brother-in-law, Robert Sumbera.
Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
