Irvin Eugene Martin, 92, Martinsville, passed away at 11:20 a.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the Grandview Health & Rehabilitation Center of Martinsville.

He was born on Friday, November 11, 1921 in Morgan County, Indiana, to the late Ernest and Iva (Frye) Martin. He was married, March 10 1942, to Doris M. (Dillon) Martin.

Eugene was an over the road truck driver for Clairmont Transfer for 30 years and retired in 1980. He had served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the Martinsville Church of The Firstborn.

Survivors are his three sons, Gary Martin of Bloomington, Larry Martin of Martinsville and Terry Martin of Bloomington; siblings, James Martin of Indianapolis and Joann Nelson of Florida; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by siblings, Richard Martin, Foster Martin, Duane Martin, Evon Bramlett Goss and Patsy Lou Silvers.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Costin Funeral Chapel with Max Piercefield officiating.

Visitation will be prior to the funeral services starting at 1:00 PM.

Burial with military honors will be at the New South Park Cemetery.
