God opened His arms and welcomed home our wonderful mother, Mrs. Nannie McBride Johnson on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001. God said, "Come my child, you have served me well on earth. It is time for you to rest in my arms. He opened Heavens gates and all the angels, her family and friends who had gone before her were rejoicing in "her homecoming."

A graveside service will be held for Mrs. Johnson at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Schoolfield, Va. She was a retired employee of Cone Mills. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Johnson of Kernersville, Edward Johnson and his wife, Irene of Colfax, Leon Johnson of Greensboro; daughters, Juanita Moore and her husband, Donald of Greensboro, Faye Deeming and her husband, Bill of Greensboro, Billie Wilson of Greensboro, Ann Hunt of Greensboro, Linda Moore and her husband, Terry of Greensboro, Cynthia Mahaffey and her husband, Curtis of Greensboro, Myra Harrison and her husband, Jim of Greensboro, Arcola Eaton and her husband, Bill of Whitsett, Janice Jones and her husband, Reverend Ronnie of Burlington; 33 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are two sisters; and one brother of Danville, Va.

Her husband, James Hobert Johnson; a daughter, Helen Tolliver and son-in-law, Charles Hunt, preceded her in death.
