Mr. Owens retired as a truck driver for Fairmont Homes in Nappanee.
He was born May 16, 1941, in Fisty, Kentucky, to Watson Owens and Gladys (Combs) Smith Owens.
Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer Owens of Big Turkey Lake; a granddaughter, Janette Mullins; a sister, Carol Walters of Bulan, Kentucky; and a brother Jerry (Arletta) Smith of West Otter Lake, Angola.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Rodney Owens; a brother, Jackie Owens; and a sister, Donna Sizemore.
Calling will be Sunday, January 19, 2014, from 2 to 6 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville.
A graveside service will be held at Woodruff Cemetery at a later date.
