Champaign County Herald (Urbana, Illinois) (Newspapers.com), Wednesday, 25 Jul 1888:
Mrs. Greene, wife of G.F. Greene, of Stanton township, died very suddenly at about 12 o'clock, Saturday, July 21, of heart disease aged 47 years. Although she had been in poor health some time yet, her death came at an unexpected moment. She leaves her husband and four children who mourn the loss of a devoted wife and a kind and loving mother. She was buried in the Somer cemetery. Last spring Mr. Green, her husband, was stricken with paralysis and has since been in an almost helpless condition, not being able to walk or talk but a little."
