GAINESVILLE - Marilyn Jeanette Lambert, 60, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014, at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born July 1, 1953, in Athens, the daughter of the late Catherine Smith Youngblood. She was retired from Baldor Electric. Mrs. Lambert was preceded in death by a brother, Lamar Cheek.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Bill Lambert, Gainesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Deidra and Chris Pinion, Gainesville, and Kelly and Marc Attaway, Flowery Branch; grandchildren, Taylor Pinion and Aaron Attaway; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Kris Youngblood, Hull; brother, Alan Cheek, Athens; sister, Kay Meadow, Ila; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 18, from the chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. The Rev. Terry Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 17, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Glory, Hope and Life, an organization that provides compassionate care for cancer patients and their families, at 725 Jesse Jewell Parkway, Suite 270, Gainesville, GA 30501, www.gloryhopelife.org.

Memorial Park South Funeral Home, Flowery Branch, is in charge of arrangements.
