He was born on October 23, 1916 in Sutter, IL to Ralph and Maude Fryer Webster. He married Louise Butler on June 23, 1938 in Keokuk, IA. She passed away on June 13, 2003. Wayne retired from the US Navy after 25 years of service; he then worked for the Iowa State Penitentiary, retiring in 1981. He served in the US Navy during WWII; he loved working in his yard and on his vehicles.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Talbot of Ft. Madison; one son, Edwin Webster of Fairbanks, Alaska; eight grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one brother, Argyle Webster of Carthage, IL and one sister, Wilta Harschbarger of Hillsboro, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one brother.
The funeral service will be held at 1 PM at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Curtis Talbot officiating. Friends may call on Thursday after 10 AM with the family to receive friends from Noon until the time of service at 1 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Rites performed by the Ft. Madison Honor Guard.
