Gladys Opal Reeves, 93, of Center, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Nacogdoches Medical Center in Nacogdoches. She was born April 16, 1920 in Shelby County to William Henry Gilchrist and Martha Izora Glenn Gilchrist. She was a past President of Shelby County Senior Citizens Association. Ms. Reeves was a member of South Richey Baptist Church in Pasadena, where she was enrolled in the Mary Margaret Class.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Donnie Weatherly officiating. Interment will follow at Adams Cemetery in Galloway.

Pallbearers will be Johnathon Cothren, Jaeson Turner, James Watson, John Thompson, Jerry Conway and Daniel Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Holley, Douglas Eaves Sr. and Eddie Carter.
