Roy Everett Frazier Jr., 90, of Holton, KS passed away January 16, 2014 at his residence at The Pines of Holton. He was born January 10, 1924 in Mayetta, KS the son of Roy Everett and Nellie (Crouse) Frazier.

Everett graduated from Mayetta High School in 1942 and had lived in the Mayetta and Denison communities all of his life. He served in the Navy during World War II in both the Atlantic and Pacific theatres. He took a special interest in farming from an early age which continued throughout his life. He worked as a clerk for Supply Depot at Forbes Air Field in Topeka before he retired in September of 1980. After his retirement he worked at the Washburn University Book Store and Menningers in Topeka.

Everett was a long time member of the Denison Bible Church. He was a 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge and a long time member of the Order of Eastern Star. He held leadership positions in both organizations in Mayetta and Denison.

Everett was also a member of the American Legion Post No. 44, Holton and the VFW Post No. 1367, Holton. He served on the board of directors of the Jackson County Nursing Home and on the Denison Cemetery Board. He served on the Denison city council and as Mayor of Denison.

Everett married his wife, Vera Dell Stevens, on June 6, 1949 in Denison, Kansas. He was a kind and devoted husband and father. Vera passed away on April 7, 1997.

Everett is survived by his daughter, Marcia Frazier of Denison, KS; his sons, Bruce Frazier (Christy) of Topeka, KS, and Rex Frazier (Traci) of Holton, KS, his brother, Carl Frazier, of Lewiston, Idaho; 10 grandchildren Jeanette Eagle, Hannah Eagle, Elisabeth Black (Casey), Julia Frazier, Elizabeth Yoder (Ben), Rachel Bowman (Tim), Rebecca Krehbiel (Quinn), Gabrielle Frazier, Cael Frazier, and Alec Frazier, and 8 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Vera, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Eagle, his sisters, Mary Fish and Josephine Wall and his brother, Robert Frazier.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2014 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in Holton Cemetery with full military honors. The family will greet friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Holton VFW Post #1367 or Mayetta Masonic Lodge #393 and may be sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
