Bernie Lionel Green, 81, formerly of the 700 block of Kings Grant Court, and a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, died late Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005. Bernie was a career naval officer of 30 years and a World War II and Vietnam veteran. He is survived by two sons, Dennis James Green of Virginia Beach and Bernie Paul Green of Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Gail Green Linder of Atlanta, Ga.; two grandchildren, J. Michael Linder of Georgia and Michelle A. Linder of North Carolina; a great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Ann Linder of Georgia; a brother, Delton Green of Texas; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church by Monsignor Raymond Barton. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, 4560 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Friends may pay condolences at www.kellumfuneralhome.com.
