On October 21, 1966, Fannie was born to the common law union of Leroy Thomas and Bobbie Jean Coleman in Leland, Mississippi. The family moved to South Bend, Indiana, in 1974 where Fannie attended the South Bend Public Schools.
Fannie was always known for being free-hearted, sharing whatever she had with the people she cared about. Fannie could always be counted on for a beautiful smile, a kind word, a laugh, and a warm hug. She loved spending time with her family and her close friends.
Fannie is survived by a beautiful family of two daughters, LaKesha (Gary) McNary, and Kenya Patterson of Macon, Georgia; three sons, Eddie Lee Patterson Jr., and Dumont Coleman of Macon, Georgia, and Devon Coleman of South Bend, Indiana; one granddaughter Kishira Page; and four grandsons, Gary McNary Jr., Gregory McNary, Daviontae Patterson, and Eddie Lee Patterson lll; her father, Leroy Thomas of Leland, Mississippi; four sisters, Bertha (Glen) Coleman, Joyce (Jessie) Coleman, Barbra Coleman, and Patricia (Bruce) Coleman of South Bend, Indiana; two brothers, Leroy Coleman Jr. of Richmond, Indiana, and Patrick Coleman of South Bend, Indiana; a special friend Kenny Hubbard; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends who have been with our family every step of the way.
Fannie was preceded in death by her mother, Bobbie Jean Coleman; aunts, Charlie C. Johnson, and Mary Botts; and a special friend, Eddie Patterson Sr.
Funeral services for Fannie P. Coleman will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 in Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home Inc., 2702 Lincoln Way West. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and then services at 12:00 noon.
