The funeral for Dustin King, 34, of Minnewaukan was held May 26 at Trinity Free Lutheran Church in Minnewaukan. Interment was in the church cemetery. He died May 22, 2007 at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake.
Pastor Luther Mathison officiated. Vocalist were Rhonda Howard and Rita Halvorson. Organist was Deanna Hanson. Casket bearers were Jamie Aabrekke, Kelly King, Mark Zillmer, Marty Tollefson, Randy and Ryan Thompson and Rodger Streifel. Honorary bearers were Allan Nord, Carrol Rognlie, Dallas, Glen and Leo DeLorme, James Arnold, Kenny and Mark Bonn, Robert and Vern Olson, Jim Helgeson and Marcel Moquin. The Nelson Funeral Home of Minnewaukan was in charge of arrangements.
Dustin Curtis King was born May 30, 1972 in Devils Lake to Gary and Sheryle (Butts) King. He graduated from Minnewaukan High School in 1990 and was a life-time resident of Minnewaukan. He was employed at DTI in Fort Totten. He loved horse, hunting, fishing, wildlife, the outdoors, spending time at the stables and attending horse races.
Survivors include his father, Gary King of Minnewaukan; a brother, Mitch King of Fargo; and a sister, Darcie Whisman of Fargo.
He was preceded in death by his mother in 2004.
