Janice Gail Simpson, of Loudon, died Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at 8:00 a.m.
She was born March 28, 1955, and was the daughter of William Virgil Simpson and Marjorie Porter Simpson. Gail graduated from Loudon High School and spent much of her life operating Simpson Grocery, which was located on Vonore Road in Loudon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Virgil and Marjorie Porter Simpson.
She is survived by her brother, Terry L. Simpson and his wife, Deborah Barnes Simpson, of Maryville; nieces, Jennifer Leigh Mowdy of Houston, Trisha Weaver of Phoenix, Meg Taylor of Maryville, Anna Wheeler of Tyler, Texas; great-nieces and nephew, Savannah Mowdy, Daniel Mowdy and Isabella Mowdy, all of Houston and Victoria Weaver, of Phoenix.
Funeral service will be 7:00 p.m. Friday, at Loudon Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jody McGaha officiating and Rev. Terry L. Simpson will give the eulogy. Graveside service will be Saturday, 11:00 a.m., at Simpson Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jim Davis, Mike Davis, Brent Coursey, Robert Thompson, Johnny Thearp and Doyle Smallen. The family will receive friends 5:00- 7:00 p.m. Friday prior to the funeral service. Friends may also call at the home of George and Helena Schupp (across from Valley View Freewill Baptist Church), Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. and Friday evening after the funeral service.
