Nadyne H. Powell, 80, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, in the Ashton Living Center.

Nadyne was born July 21, 1933, in Chester, Idaho, the daughter of Joseph Sylvester and Veneda M. Munro Howard. She grew up and attended Fremont County schools.

She married Wayne Henry Powell on April 7, 1952, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in California, Japan, Hawaii, Guam -- wherever Wayne was stationed in the Navy until his retirement, when they moved back to St. Anthony, where they have since resided. Wayne passed away April 29, 1991. Nadyne continued to live in St. Anthony until ill health forced her to the living center in Ashton several years ago.

Nadyne was active in the LDS church, serving in the Relief Society and as a volunteer in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She also enjoyed bowling.

Nadyne is survived by two children, Bradley Wayne Powell and Debra Powell Webb, both of St. Anthony; a sister, Monna Bratt of Ashton; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Lorilynn; a grandchild, Joyce Nadyne Staley; three brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, in the St. Anthony 1st Ward with Bishop Drostan Orme officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Parker Cemetery under the direction of Bidwell Funeral Home.
