Bettie M. Mallette, 83, a resident of 129 W. Seneca St., Oswego, passed away Saturday, October 27th, 2007 at the Seneca Hill Manor. Born in Vermillion, Ohio to the late William and Edna (Lowry) Backus. Mrs. Mallette managed several dining halls over many years; she also worked in the Auxiliary service at Oswego State. She is survived by her daughter Linda Mallette of Oswego; a son Dennis (Brenda) Mallette of Gainesville, VA; two brothers William (Betty) Backus of Oswego and James Backus of Hannibal and two grandchildren, Melanie Walrath of Oswego and Tracy Lapsley of Liverpool. Four great grandchildren. Mrs. Mallette is predeceased by her husband Richard Mallette in 1982. Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego. Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery, Oswego. There will be no Calling Hours.
