Darrel Lee, 79, of Charleston died Tuesday (Jan. 14, 2014) at Charleston Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
The graveside funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday (Jan. 17, 2014) at Union Cemetery in rural Charleston. There will be no visitation. Harper-Swickard Funeral Home in Charleston is in charge of the arrangements.
He was born Dec. 26, 1934, in Coles County, the son of Brian and Cecil (Fitzpatrick) Lee. He married Jewell Ernestine Combs in 1955; she died in 2001.
Survivors include one son, Allan Lee of Hammond, Ind.; one daughter, Penny Lee of Charleston; one sister, Myrna Lee of Oakland; and one brother, Lester "Bus" Lee of Charleston.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, and two brothers.
Mr. Lee was formerly employed at Lambo's Amoco.
