Georgia Taylor Murphy, age 82, of 2070 Scenic Valley Rd., Glade Valley, NC; died Saturday, December 14, 2013 at her residence. She was born May 23, 1931 in Alleghany County, NC to the late George and Cora Osborne Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bert Baugus and second husband E. J. Murphy; a brother, J.C. Taylor and a sister, Maude Wright. She is survived by a son, Dale Baugus and wife Mickie of Sparta; a daughter, Gail Long and husband Ray of N. Wilkesboro; a step-son, David Murphy of Glade Valley; three granddaughters: Anya Brown and husband Jim of Sparta, Missy Cheek and husband Joseph of Atlanta, GA, Donna Ball and husband Dan of Nunica, MI; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Pruitt of Traphill; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family would like to request the honor of your presence to celebrate the life of Mrs. Murphy at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 16, 2013 at Little Pine Church of the Brethren. Interment will follow at Rich Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends and family one hour prior to the service at the church.
