CHARLES WRATTEN
ONEIDA April 10 -- Charles Wratten, aged 50 years and employed by the New York Central Railroad as a gate tender at the Verona Station crossing was found dead in his room at the hotel there, He complained of not feeling well and went to his room to lie down. That was the last seen of him alive. Coroner shipman of Vernon was called and pronounced heath due to suffocation from a tumor in the throat. Mr. Wratten had resided at Verona Station for the past eight or nine years. He leaves besides his mother, Mrs. Martha Avard; three brothers, John D. Avard of this city, Jesse and Fred Avard of Verona; three sisters, Mrs John Sanderson of Oneida Castle, Mrs. Charles Wilson of this city and Mrs. Walter Allen of Hecla. He was a member of the Prosperity Lodge, I. O. O. F., of Munnsville. The remains were removed to the home of his brother, Jesse Avard, from where the funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1 o'clock. Interment will be made in Verona Cemetery.
