Mrs. A. V. Copelan has a CSA pension application on line in the GA archives virtual vault. She says she is the widow of John B Copeland and they married in Greene Co on 1 Dec. 1867. He enlisted in 1861 in Pike County, Ga and served with Company G of the 37th GA Infantry as a private. He was wounded in the hip, went home on furlough and then was captured on his way back to his unit, towards the end of the war. She gives his date of death as 27 Nov 1891.
