Gary Merrell
The funeral service for Big Sandy resident and retired Dupont maintenance employee Gary Phillip Merrell was at 2 p.m. Sunday at Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home in Big Sandy. Burial followed in Crooked Creek Cemetery in Big Sandy.
Visitation was Saturday.
Merrell, 65, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at his residence.
Local survivors are a son: Melvin (Jessie) Humble of Paris; and three grandchildren: Ethan, Taylor and Wyatt Humble.
Born in Benton County on Feb. 12, 1948, he was a son of the late Howard and Alice Wheatley Merrell.
He also leaves one other son: Rick Merrell of Big Sandy; two brothers: Doug (Evelyn) Merrell of Big Sandy and Eddie (Sierra) Merrell of Rogersville; and one other grandchild: Nathan Merrell.
He also was preceded in death by three brothers: Ottie, Raymond and Leslie Merrell.
