She was born Aug. 14, 1939, in Surry County to the late Robert Lester and Betty Elizabeth Wall Wall.
She was a homemaker and a member of Friendly Chapel Church.
She is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Eddie Wayne Ashburn of the home, Ricky Lee Ashburn of Mount Airy and Robert Craig and his wife Rikki Ashburn of King; a granddaughter, Hannah Ashburn; two stepgrandsons, Jason McCrary and Nicholas McCrary; a sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Posey Whittington of Pilot Mountain; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Virgil and Polly Wall of Pinnacle and Charlie and Rubie Wall of Pinnacle.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ashburn was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Wall Snow; and two brothers, Bobby Ray Wall and Lawrence Wall.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, at Friendly Chapel Church, with Brother Don Collins, Brother Jerry Pardue and the Rev. Bob Mills officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening, Sept. 20, at the church.
