Mr. Carl M. Harrison, Jr., 83, of Fayetteville, GA passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Mr. Harrison was born September 29, 1930 in Lithonia, GA.
He was a 1948 graduate of Russell High School in East Point, GA. He attended Georgia Tech and graduated from Georgia State. He served his country in the Navy and fought in the Korean War. He was retired from Southern Bell/Bell South/AT&T after 35 years of service.
He was a member of Harps Crossing Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge 600, South Fulton Shriners, V.F.W. (Veterans of Foreign Wars), GA Military Vehicle Preservation Society, American Legion, and the Harrison Hunting Club.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Frances "Frankie" Harrison of Fayetteville; daughters Carla Harrison Moore and Sherry Harrison Bowen of Fayetteville; son Donald Scott Harrison of Newnan; grandchildren Taylor Moore, Anna Moore, Elizabeth Bowen, Catherine Bowen, and Miranda Harrison.
A funeral service will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Harp's Crossing Baptist Church. Reverend Dennis Watson and Reverend Oscar Cope will officiate. A burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, College Park.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
