A Lexington native, he was the son of the late George Dewey Hellard, Jr. and Edna Clara May Hellard. Mr. Hellard was a 1967 graduate of Lafayette High School and attended the University of Kentucky. He had served in the Army Reserves and was the owner and operator of Distinctive Image in Nicholasville, KY.
Mr. Hellard was a member of Broadway Christian Church where he was an elder and a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. He served on the Board of Christian Benevolent Outreach for Sayre Christian Village.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his sons, Jeremy Michael (Jennifer) Hellard and Justin Blake Hellard, all of Lexington; a grandson, Grayson Michael Hellard, Lexington; a sister, Nancy (Roger) Lashbrook, Lexington; two brothers, Dan (Candice) Hellard, Franklin, TN and Barry (Darlene) Hellard, Lexington; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Sat. at Broadway Christian Church by Jim Bird, Minister, Broadway Christian Church and Craig Yates, Associate Minister, Broadway Christian Church. Entombment will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dan Hellard, Barry Hellard, Roger Lashbrook, Harold Robinson, Randy Ramey, and Bill Yeary.
