MANSFIELD: God has taken another angel home and heaven is rejoicing. Karen Morton was a prime example of a true Christian. She will be dearly missed in so many ways. Karen Louise Morton, 46, of Mansfield, Ohio, died January 11, 2014 after a brief illness.

Born on December 22, 1967, she was the daughter of Clarence Morton and Martha (McManus) Wolfgang. Karen graduated from Madison Comprehensive High School in 1987 and went on to earn an Associates Degree from North Central College. She had worked at Winchester Terrace and Wedgewood Estates, but most recently as a shift supervisor at Rite Aid in Lexington. Karen was a caregiver for many family members and friends, and in her free time, she enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii and Disney World. She loved collecting teddy bears. Karen was a member of Diamond Hills Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, helped in the nursery and worked with the children's ministry.

Surviving are her mother, Martha Wolfgang of Mansfield; father, Clarence Morton of Bellville; sister, Pam (Todd) Brewster of Mansfield; half-sisters, Jody (Ben) Bolen of Ashland and Shelli Tammer of Lexington; half-brother, Scott Morton of Bellville; step-brothers, Edward (Dona) Wolfgang and Robert (Cathy) Wolfgang, both of Plymouth; numerous nieces and nephews; special nephew and helper, Allan Beasley; many great-nieces and nephews; and a number of aunts and uncles.

Karen was preceded in death by her step-father, Earl Wolfgang and her grandparents.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Christopher R. Thomas, will be held Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Diamond Hills Baptist Church, 647 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. An additional hour of calling will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Diamond Hills Baptist Church or The American Cancer Society.
