Mrs. Betty Lovins Keene, age 59, of Trinity, North Carolina, passed away Saturday (January 11, 2014) in an Asheboro, North Carolina hospice facility. Born September 7, 1954 in Oceana, West Virginia, she was a daughter of Ruth Pritchard Lovins of Pineville, West Virginia and the late Willard Lovins. She had spent her early life in West Virginia, attending Oceana High School, and had lived in Bristol, Tennesse, but most of her life had been in North Carolina. She was a very hardworking lady.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Lovins, and two grandchildren, Siller Jane Keene and Christopher Reaux Hansen.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband of forty-five years, Ronald Keene of the home; three children, Rodney Perry Keene and wife, Joanne of Charlotte, Florence Elizabeth Keene and husband, Lee White and Hope Priscilla Keene all of Trinity, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Priscilla "Prissy" Keene, Perry Keene, Samantha "Sambone" Keene, Gail Keene, Christopher Keene, and Anastasia Hansen; two great-granddaughters, Brooke and Maddie; several brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Daniel Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in the Boyd Cemetery at Pine Creek, Virginia.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour.
