Marjorie was born at Poland Indiana in Owen County. The address is Poland, but this address can be in Owen County and Clay County Indiana. Marj was the daughter of John Nichols and Bertha Elizabeth (Rubeck) Nichols. Marj was the 5th of nine children. She graduated from Cloverdale High School in 1940. She went to Kaiser School in Owen County, the first 6 years of school, 7th and 8th grades she attended at Cunot School, then attended Jordan High School, which was a 3 year school.
Marjorie married John William Curtis and they were the parents of two girls.
Marjorie retired in 1987 from Link Belt.

I knew Marj. and she will be missed by many family and friends. When she would tell stories of the past, you couldn't help but laugh. The Rubeck family reunions won't be the same anymore. Her obit said, "She was proud to be a Country Girl from Owen County".

Marjorie was the Granddaughter of Leonard and Margaret (Spears) Rubeck and the Great-Granddaughter of George and Elizabeth (Altemiller) Rubeck.
