David Franklin Addington Sr., 82, of Coebur, VA., and briefly a resident of Liberty, IN., died peacefully in his sleep Sunday, December 1, 2013 at his daughter's home where he was residing. He was born July 1, 1931 in Banner, VA. His parents were Fleetwood Addington and Maggie Harvey Addington. He was a retired coal miner. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Gilmer and Eugene Addington, and a son-in-law, Douglas Garwood.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Pauline Stapleton Addington, a duaghter Dinah Garwood, Liberty, IN, four sons: David Addington Jr. and his wife Melody, Westfield, IN, Gilmer Addington and wife Kristie, Indianapolis, IN, Bill Addington and his wife Karen, Coeburn, VA, and Tom Addington and his wife, Sarah, Pleasant Hill, OH, a sister, Gerfus McReynolds, Coeburn, VA, a brother, Isaac Addington, Richmond, VA, nine grandchildren, "20 1/2" great grandchildren, sveral nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
