JACOB SPENCER BENNER, 429 McDowell Avenue, died at his home Monday, aged 83. Born at Thurmont, Frederick County, Md., he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Benner. He had resided in Hagerstown for the past sixty years, employed as a boilermaker by the Western Maryland R.R. for 44 years until his retirement in 1946. He was a member of Faith Temple, Cearfoss.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia Hale Benner; daughter, Mrs. Edward L. Weaver, Boonsboro; son, Norman E. Benner, Hagerstown; step-daughter, Mrs. Lillian Barnhart; stepsons, Dee W. Hale, Iron Melton, Mich.; Fred Hale, Phelps, Ky.; Gordon Hale, Cincinnatia, Ohio; William Hale, Saltsville, Md.' sister, Mrs. John Kessering, Thurmont; brothers, Milton R. Benner and Charles Benner, Indianapolis, In.

Funeral services were held at the Faith Temple at Cearfoss; interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery; arrangements were by the A.K. Coffman Funeral Home.
