Louise T. Komes, 85, of Batavia passed away Monday, October 31, 2005 at her residence. Louise was born June 26, 1920 on the family farm in West Chicago, the daughter of Peter and Margaret (nee Theis) Baumann. Louise was united in marriage to Earl P. Komes at Holy Cross Catholic Church on April 26, 1941.
Louise was a life member of Holy Cross Catholic where she was baptized and married. She was active with Alter Rosary Society, helped serve meals on wheels and taught church school. Louise always had an open door policy at her home she raised three grandchildren after the death of her daughter; she also cared for her father and father-in-law and neighborhood children were always welcome. Louise was a loving mother and grandmother that will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her one daughter, Judy (Fred) Runge of Aurora; three sons, Dave (Sandra) Komes of Hinkley, Don (Sheree) Komes of Hinkley and Doug of Batavia; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Leonard (Joanne) Baumann of Polo, IL; extended family, Sally Komes, Lorraine Geldernick and Ione Patterman; several nieces and nephews; and by her loving caregiver, Marzena who made it possible for Louise to spend her final days in her own home.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; and a daughter, Jane Wood; a brother, John Baumann; and a sister, Evelyn Hinterlong.
Visitation will be held 6-8 P.M. Thursday, November 3, 2005 at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave., Batavia, IL.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, November 4, 2005 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2300 West Main Street in Batavia, IL, where she will lie in state from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Mass. Interment will follow at Marywood Cemetery in Aurora.
