Mrs. Eula B. Caldwell, 80, of 2200 Sixth Terrace North, who died Wednesday, was a native of Cherokee. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Jefferson East directing. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Elaine Portman, Rome, Ga.,Mrs. Christine Hereford, Birmingham, and a son, Carl Whittle, Los Angeles, Calif.

Beeda was the daughter of John Hamilton "Hamp" Caldwell and Nancy Lucinda Coffin Caldwell. Her siblings were Mary Francis Caldwell Bramlett (1876 - 1933), Laura Emma Caldwell (1880 - ), Dora L. Caldwell Nelson (1888 - 1980), May E. Caldwell (1892 - ), Paul S. Caldwell (1898 - ), Ethel Eugenia Caldwell Vernon (1901 - 1988), Annie Ruth Caldwell Scott (1903 - 1987), Bessie L. Caldwell Barron (1906 - ), and Frank Caldwell (1908 - ).

She married W. Herbert "Hubert" Whittle (1894 - 1984) about 1912, later divorcing him. From this marriage, they had four children: Elaine Whittle Moore Portman (1913 - 2000), Hazel Beatrice Whittle Brown (1915 - 1875), S. Christine Whittle Hereford (1917 - 2002), and Hubert Carl Whittle (1922 - 2002).

On November 5, 1947, she married Eugene Cleveland Caldwell (1886 - 1955)in Jefferson County, Alabama.
