A graduate of Seton Hall University, Joseph had worked as the Chief Chemist at Sandoz Chemical in Fair Lawn and retired as the Environmental Protection Officer. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a parishioner of St. Anthony's R.C. Church, Hawthorne.
Joseph was the beloved husband of the late Marilyn "Peggie" (nee: Scullion) Foy. Loving father of Joe Foy of Atlanta, GA, Theresa Foy DiGeronimo and her husband Michael of Hawthorne, John Foy of Hawthorne and James Foy and his wife Grace of Brielle. Dear grandfather of Matthew DiGeronimo and his wife Aimee of Oahu, HI, Joey DiGeronimo of Hawthorne, Colleen DiGeronimo and her fiancé Brendan Boswell of Clifton, John Foy and his fiancé Cate DiPinto of Bloomingdale, Brittany Foy of Pompton Lakes and James Foy of Brielle. Dearest uncle of many nieces and nephews. Joseph was predeceased by six sisters and 2 brothers.
Funeral will depart at 9 AM on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne, for a 9:30 AM funeral mass at St. Anthony's Church, Hawthorne. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
