Roland was born in Jackman, Maine on June 28, 1924. The son of Alfred and Bertha Pomerleau. He served proudly during WWII with the 398th Engineer General Service Regiment. He was a welder prior to the war but he mainly worked in the shoe manufacturing industry after his discharge. He earned an EAMA Service Medal w/3 Bronze Stars along with a Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal and a Meritorious Unit Award. He was involved in three campaigns while in Europe, The Ardennes, Rhineland and Middle Eastern campaigns. Dad you were a humble and loving person always giving of yourself and never expecting anything in return. He died of lung cancer and peripheral vascular disease at the age of 81. You will be greatly missed. You are now with your beloved Lorraine and together you can travel through eternity.
