born on September 18, 1942, was called home. He was one of eight children born to the late William V. and Laura Hurt Bertram. A devoted family man, he was most at ease on the farm where he and his wife spent nearly 20 years. He enjoyed his garden, fishing, woodworking and being outdoors. A self-taught musician, he loved playing the guitar and banjo and had a beautiful singing voice. He was also a United States Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam era as a paratrooper. He leaves behind a hole in the heart of all who knew and respected him. He attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Richmond.
