Travis was an attorney in Simpson County, MS. He had attended the Bryant family reunion just a few days before he passed away. That is where I last saw him.

Simpson County Public Defender Travis Hilton Bryant, 58, died unexpectedly of heart failure Saturday at his home.

Services were held Monday at Sharon Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers were David Garner, Judge Robert Evans, Judge Larry Buffington, Billy Stephens, Richard Craft, Greg Craft and Mike Finch. The Rev. J. O. Walker officiated.

Bryant was a graduate of Magee High School, where he played football and basketball, the University of Southern Mississippi, and the Mississippi School of Law. He was a Juris Doctorate and a member of the MENSA Society, and served in the U.S. Navy for four years.
