Walton Walter Arnold, 55, 3405 W. Jackson St., a telegrapher for the Nickel Plate Railroad for 15 years, died shortly before midnight Wednesday at Ball Hospital following an extended illness. He had come to Muncie last August from Illinois.

Mr. Arnold was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion at Argos, Ill., and the Masonic Lodge and Modern Woodman Lodge.

Survivors include the widow, Caroline Lucretia; one son, Jerry Arnold, Muncie; seven sisters, Mrs. Isabelle Doolin, Florida; Mrs. Lida Newlin, Mrs. Ada Bates, Mrs. Florence McNickel, Mrs. Mary Gregory, Mrs. June Hyle and Miss Laura Arnold, all of Illinois; two brothers, J.O. and Floyd E. Arnold, both of Illinois, and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Meeks Mortuary with the Rev. Doyle Hofferburt officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 2 p.m. Friday.
