Hazel Key Brookman Allen, 72, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, March 13, 1996. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldridge J. and Jessie Sims Brookman, and her husband, E. Ernest Allen, Jr.

Mrs. Allen was a member of Enon Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Carolyn Allen Burnett and husband, Dan, Rocky Mount; son, Michael S. Allen and wife, Patt, Roanoke; grandchildren, David Michael Burnett and wife, Tracie, Sheri Lynn Burnett, all of Rocky Mount; brother, Warren S. Brookman and wife, Phyllis, Roanoke; sister, Gladys B. Burger and husband, Roy, Hampton; sister-in-law, Frances Allen, Hardy; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1290 Seminole Trail, Suite 2, Charlottesville, Va. 22901. Funeral services will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Oakey's North Chapel by the Rev. William E. Hungate. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Oakey's North Chapel.
