The Derrick:
Tammy Lynn Shook, 47, of 310 Pacific Street, Franklin died peacefully at 12:13 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, in her home surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 30, 1966, in Franklin and was a beloved daughter of Beverly Bickel Hoffman of Franklin and the late John C. Hoffman.

As her health permitted, she had worked for a number of years in the housekeeping department and as a nurse's aide at The Caring Place of Franklin. With a ready smile and cheerful disposition, she was a favorite among her peers, as well as the residents and their families. She enjoyed the times that she shared with her family and friends; most especially at the holidays. She looked forward to going out with friends and family for a "night-on-the-town" dancing. She will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.

She is survived by her mother; her children, Angel M. Shook and fiance, Josh Seippel, of Franklin; John R. Shook Jr. and fiancee, Brianna R. Boocks, of Fertigs; Tesha R. Mays and husband, William S., of Franklin; and Joshua R. Shook of Franklin; grandchildren, Lily Shook, James Mays and Issac Seippel; step-grandchildren, Brayden, McKinnen, Leighaunna and Joshua Seippel; brothers and sisters, John Hoffman and wife, June "Lynn," of Franklin; Betty Deeter and husband, Tim, of Franklin; Terry Hoffman and wife, Cindy, of Stoneboro; and Penny Rodgers and husband, Jim, of Franklin; two brothers-in-law, Kevin M. Heath of Oil City and Jim Poston of Kennerdell; her former husband, John R. Shook Sr., special friends, the Yingling family and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sisters Melinda Heath and Lola M. Hoffman.

Services will be at 11 am Wednesday in the chapel of The Caring Place with Rev. Linda Deeter, chaplain of The Caring Place, officiating. Interment will be in Lamey Cemetery.
