The above was written on a card by Richard Spry (when 8 years old) to his mother, Hattie Geraldine Long Spry, age 96, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who passed away peacefully in a Salt Lake hospital after a short illness.

Born in Salt Lake City, Utah Territory, June 22, 1895 to Charles R. and Hannah Ewer Long. Married Earl Wendell Spry, June 20, 1916 in Salt Lake; sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple May 10, 1971. He preceded her in death Feb. 8, 1970.

Hattie was a special person - always willing to help others and will be missed by many.

She is survived by her son, Richard M. and wife, Audrey Spry; grandchildren, Ricki Spry and Sandra Chlopitsky; grandson-in-law, Tony Chlopitsky; great-grandson, Oakley J. Chlopitsky, whom she loved dearly, all of South Salt Lake. Preceded in death by a son, Wendell Spry.

Graveside services Wednesday, June 17, 12 noon, Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue & N Street. Viewing will be at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Wednesday, 11-11:45 a.m.
