Magdalena Van der Ley married Ivo Verbeek on May 20, 1843 in The Netherlands. He died Jan 2, 1862 in Noord-Holland. She immigrated to America with her children in 1867 and is found in the Souvenir History of Pella, Iowa, p. 138. She may have come to Iowa to join her brothers, Adrianus and Johannes VD Ley, as well as her sister, Deliana Nultenbok.
