Passed away Saturday, September 19, 1981, at the Saginaw Community Hospital, following a lingering illness. Age 85 years.

He was born September 9, 1896, in Bloomfield, Russia, coming to the U.S.A. when a child.

He was a tailor by occupation. he was a member of the Grace Presbyterian Church, Life Member of the Saginaw Valley Lodge No. 154 F&AM.

Mr. Schmidt married Goldie Williams on September 9, 1918. She predeceased him January 9, 1974.

Surviving are two brothers, Edward Schmidt, San Diego, Calif.; John W. Schmidt, St. Charles; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will take place 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Presbyterian Church. Dr. Harold W. Kaser will officiate with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Case Chapel, 409 Adams, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday and 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday and at the churh from noon Tuesday until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Grace Presbyterian Church.
