Obituary

Funeral service will be at noon today at Crestwood Chapel for Robert "Cecil" Quattlebaum, 97, of Hokes Bluff, who died Feb. 12, 2012. The Rev. Eric House will officiate. Entombment will be at Crestwood Mausoleum. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct the service.
Mr. Quattlebaum was a native of Cullman County, having been raised in Hanceville. After moving to Etowah County, he owned and operated a grocery store at 1016 Ewing Ave. for 27 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hokes Bluff. Mr. Quattlebaum retired to his farm in Hokes Bluff and raised beef cattle.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie B. Quattlebaum; children, Marjorie Clayton and J.M. Wagnon.
He is survived by his son, Charles O. Quattlebaum; daughter-in-law, Kathy Tucker Quattlebaum; granddaughter, Beverly Clayton Fugatt; son-in-law, Cody Clayton; sister, Emma Rue Quattlebaum Gentle; brother-in-law, Al Gentle; and several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Taylor, Gene Gosset, Steve Shew, Winston Williams, Kenneth Tucker and Tommy Bain.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 11 am until the hour of service.
