He was married to Mamie E Steiner. They had four children: Clarence Elisworth, Belden Steiner, Cecil Newton, and Raymond Stanley.
Some time around 1910 he left California with his father, Albert and brother, Matt. They each homesteaded 160 acres in what is now known as Thunderbird Park. The hills in the park are named after them. The rest of the family followed later.
Clarence remained in Arizona until his death. He was survived by his wife and four children, and was laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery on Nov 21, 1918 under the direction of Moore & McLellan.
