Cindy Collier, 57, of Marshall, MO, formerly of West Union, IL, died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in West Union, IL, with Rev. Richard M. Barnett, Jr. officiating. Born July 9, 1955, in Robinson, IL, she was the daughter of the late Dean Monk and Flower Graham Monk who survives of West Union. She was a 1973 graduate of Hutsonville High School in Hutsonville, IL. On May 14, 1976, she married John Collier who survives of the home. She was a 1987 graduate of Lincoln Trail College in Robinson, IL where she received an Associate of Science degree in Nursing. She retired from Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN after over 20 years of service as a registered nurse. She had lived in Marshall since 2008 moving from West Union, was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marshall and a former member of the First Baptist Church in West Union.
In addition to her husband, survivors include one son, Jason Collier and wife Freda of Sunnyvale, CA; two grandchildren, Lucas and Catherine Collier; two brothers, Jim Monk and wife Theresa of West Union and Terry Monk and wife Elaina of Marshall, IL; one sister, Beverly Correll and husband Bob of Hutsonville; a sister-in-law, Sheila Monk of Marshall, IL; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ira Dean Monk, Jr. in infancy and Bobby Monk.
