Alexia C. Johnson, 19, passed away at her home in Hutchinson on Jan. 6, 2014. She was born Sept. 24, 1994 in Wichita, the daughter of Richard and Beverly Sickles Johnson.

Alexia attended Hutchinson High School. She loved coming to school and socializing with all of her friends. Among her many classes that she took, her favorites that stood out were Broadcasting, Sign Language, Spanish, Business and Career Presentations, U.S. History and Birdfeeder (cooking class). One of her many accomplishments is the book that she wrote in a English Class. "My Life in a Wheelchair" is a book she had always wanted to write. A quote from the book says exactly what she wanted to tell everyone: "...Always consider a person in a wheelchair as important as everyone else, and know that they might have the best heart and funniest sense of humor you have ever seen." To the many teachers, paras, therapists and other school friends that knew her, her smiles, laughter and jokes were a highlight of the days. She was a lifetime Hutchinson resident and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

She is survived by her father, Richard, numerous uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces, her grandfather, Everett Johnson and was preceded in death by her mother Beverly.
